OTR GLOBAL AWARDED "EXCELLENCE IN RESEARCH" BY INVESTORSIDE

Purchase, NY (December 1, 2009) — Global (OTR) was awarded for "Excellence in Research" for Global Marketplace Research in Agricultural Materials from the Investorside Research Association at its annual Member's Day held in New York City on Nov. 16. OTR Global's early detection and confirmation of dropping demand in critical agricultural markets in the United States, South America and Asia, provided investors with a unique input, months ahead of industry and Street information.

OTR has researched agricultural markets for more than 15 years as part of its core and proprietary research services across multiple sectors. For this study, 12 reporters conducted 97 interviews with industry sources across five countries (the United States, Argentina, Brazil, Chile and India) and 24 pieces of research were published between February and December 2008, comprising reports, monitoring and conference notes.

Fueled by the emerging biofuel-driven crop expansion of corn and soybean in fall 2006, U.S. fertilizer demand and pricing climbed to historic highs for a dramatic run of 21 months from 3Q06 to 2Q08. Despite source accounts of some volume decline and a slight dip in U.S. demand, fertilizer prices remained exceptionally strong because of robust international consumption of fertilizers.

The criteria for these awards were developed by the Investorside Advisory Board, which is comprised of representatives from buy-side firms. Eight other independent firms were also recognized.
