OTR Global to Donate to Haiti Relief Effort
New York, NY (February 17, 2010) —
OTR Global announced today that it has joined the Wall Street Disaster Relief Day Initiative, "Stand Strong with Haiti," taking place on Friday, February 19, 2010. This initiative was launched in cooperation with the American Red Cross, the Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund, UNICEF and the Weill Cornell Medical College's GHESKIO clinic in Haiti.
"The Haitian people have suffered an unspeakable tragedy that has brought their country to the brink of disaster," said Stanton Green, President and Chief Executive Officer at OTR Global. "Wall Street has been touched by the plight of Haiti and like it has done so many times before, has stepped up to answer the call for financial assistance. OTR Global is proud to be part of this relief effort and to join the many notable organizations in helping Haiti rebuild."
The objective of the Wall Street initiative is two-fold: to increase awareness and raise donations to support relief efforts underway in Haiti, and to demonstrate that when a crisis of historic proportions tears down a nation, the Wall Street community will band together to help rebuild it. OTR Global will donate a portion of its trading commissions from this week to the effort. All contributions will go directly to the participating charities currently operating in Haiti.
