OUR RESEARCH TEAM
First and foremost, OTR Global® embraces a highly ethical, journalistic approach to research. Jon Gates, Director of Global Research
Jon oversees OTR Global's research department. A founding member of OTR, Jon joined in 1995 and developed OTR Global's industrial research team and initiated the firm's international expansion, covering capital equipment, manufacturing, logistics and crop genetics, among other industries.
Dimitri Kaczmarek, Strategist, Asia
Dimitri oversees Asia research for OTR and primarily covers the Telecommunications industry in China with an emphasis on China's 3G homegrown technology, TD-SCDMA. Before joining OTR in 1997, he managed BusinessWeek's Executive Programs in Asia and research, and was director of a management consulting company servicing multinational companies.
Hartmut Leuschner, Strategist, Europe and Global Telecom Director
Hartmut covers the global market for Mobile Handsets, Smartphones, Wireless Infrastructure, Mobile Platforms and Global Positioning Systems. He also oversees the European research team for OTR Global GmbH. Prior to joining OTR in 1996, Hartmut spent more than a decade as an award-winning journalist and columnist for one of Germany's largest daily newspapers. Hartmut is based in Germany.
Shannon Fox, Global Consumer Retail Director
Shannon Fox oversees OTR Global's global consumer products, retail and restaurant coverage. Previously, Ms. Fox served as COO of Research for OTR and directed the expansion of the firm's global healthcare team. Shannon holds a master's degree in business marketing from Queensland University of Technology in Australia and a bachelor's in communications from Washington State University. She has been with OTR Global since 1997.
Howard Rothman, Managing Editor, Cyclicals
Howard oversees OTR's Global Cyclicals research. Since joining OTR in 2003, much of his experience has been covering global heavy, power, farm and mining equipment, and domestic rail and truck shipping.
Rachel Dangermond, Media Director
Rachel oversees the Media group covering a diverse range of media topics from online and emerging marketing technology to television advertising. In addition to media she has covered consumer products, financials, heavy equipment and retail. She started working for OTR in 2000.
Mark Specker, Strategist, Technology
Mark manages OTR's Technology team and is a seasoned technology analyst with more than 20 years of experience as a research director, sell-side analyst and investment banker. Most recently, Mark served as Global Head of Proprietary Research for Thomson Reuters with a focus on the Asia-Pacific region. Prior to that, he was Managing Director for Investment Banking and Capital Markets with WR Hambrecht and Managing Director/Head of large-cap tech research for SoundView Technology Group. He spent ten years with Gartner on IT management consulting, including several years as director of their Intel server research practice and three years in Europe. Mark has an A.B. from Columbia University.
