Research Associate - Healthcare
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Our Healthcare group is looking for a Research Associate to join the team. The individual in this role will be supporting the operations of the team, facilitating the research process, as well as connecting with healthcare industry professionals to conduct in-depth interviews. A strong candidate for this role is creative and curious, and is determined to build a dependable list of contacts often viewed as difficult to reach - typically doctors, surgeons, and other healthcare industry professionals - and maintain those relationships over time.
The Research Associate will be analyzing findings from our primary research, synthesizing information, and conducting secondary research. Clear and concise communication skills are also important aspects of this role. The Research Associate will work closely with senior members of the Healthcare team to provide relevant and timely marketplace intelligence. Candidates with previous experience in the healthcare industry, primary research, or healthcare trends research are preferred.
PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in journalism and/or research of healthcare topics, analyzing and/or writing about healthcare trends; knowledge of the financial industry and investment basics a plus.
- Understanding of the key trends shaping the healthcare industry today and an ability to identify, simplify, and articulate inflections in those trends to the audience.
- Exceptional communication and analytical skills, attention to detail, ability to “connect the dots” and clearly articulate research conclusions.
- Ability to network persistently in a remote setting, develop new industry sources across various healthcare topics, and engage contacts in recurring in-depth dialogue over time.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills, proactive thinking, ability to meet deadlines, take ownership and work under pressure; schedule flexibility a must. The candidate must be a fast learner.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience aggregating, organizing and analyzing data.
- Proven ability to work well within teams, self-motivated, showing initiative, a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.

Research Associate - NMRC
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The job of an OTR Global Research Associate is to gather unbiased information on companies and industries through telephone interviews with a variety of sources in numerous sectors, including Professional Contractor, Industrial Supply, Construction Rental Equipment, Auto Parts, Retail and Restaurants, and record the information cultivated from those source interactions into an online information system. $23 per hour. 1-5 shifts per week, 5-25 hours per week, for 5- 6 hours per shift in our Santa Fe office. No benefits.
PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be computer literate, know Excel well. Be able to utilize and toggle between multiple windows at once and multi task.
- Prior experience or solid understanding of Professional Contracting, Industrial Supply, Construction Rental Equipment, Auto Parts and Retail and/or Restaurant sectors a plus
- The ability to maintain a positive attitude, self-motivated and confidence
- Tenacious and resilient and able to handle rejection with cold calls
- The ability to quickly assimilate information on new subjects
- Intellectual curiosity and a passion for fact-finding
- Excellent verbal communication skills, including good listening skills
- Ability to work well within a team, but will also be a motivated, independent worker
- Schedule flexibility; must be able to work M-F, 8-5 pm
